What is an ENT?

ENT is an acronym for a physician who specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of Ear, Nose, and Throat disorders. The true name for this specialty physician is otorhinolaryngologist. According to the American Academy of Otorhinolaryngology, otorhinolaryngology is the oldest medical specialty in the United States. These physicians have completed college, medical school, and at least five years of specialty training. They are trained to treat a wide array of pathologies.

Examples include:

The Ear: hearing loss, tinnitus, ear infections, balance disorders, congenital structural abnormalities
